We will be starting up our teen and children Wednesday night programs on Wednesday, August 17th at 7pm.  Our Patch the Pirate program will be for kids age 4-11 and our Teen Youth Group will be for ages 12-18.

We have revamped our Patch the Pirate program and it will now be lead by Mrs. Shannon.  Patch will still include scripture memory, bible based stories, skits, games, and activities.  The biggest difference is that we are going a different direction with the music.  We are now going to use Bible Song Kids from Bible Truth Music.  These songs are scripture set to music and will be a great way for each of our kids to internalize scripture.  The first unit that our Patch program will be covering is Kindness and the memory verse will be Proverbs 18:21 – Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that love it shall eat the fruit of it.

We are excited about our new Teen Youth Group that will meet on Wednesdays.  It will be lead by Bro. Derek and Mrs. Tiffany.  The youth group will give us an opportunity to minister to teens about issues that are real and relevant in their lives.  We will be using the Proteens curriculum and our first topic is called Peer Pressure: Daring To Be Different.  Over the course of five weeks our teens will: 1. understand what peer pressure is; 2. identify types of peer pressure and how to resist; 3. how to choose the right kinds of friends and how to lose the wrong kinds; 4. understand how their friends influence them; 5. help use positive peer pressure to glorify God.

We will be doing an activity with our teens every couple of months.  Some examples of possible activities include: Main Event, theme parks, snow tubing, Ark Encounter and Creation Museum, a Louisville River Bats baseball game, a teen lock in, a mission trip and etc.  Some activities will be smaller, while others will be larger trips. A specific point goal will be set for each activity and anyone who meets or surpasses the goal will earn a portion of their trip cost to be paid for by the church.  Teens will earn points by: bringing their bible, memorizing scripture, sermon notes, brining a guest and devotions.

Please be in prayer for us as we begin this important endeavor with our teens and children!
